well...in California, they are actually illegal, just like ferrets, but......

I love my little pokey. She is an african pygmy hedgehog, so she's less than a pound and fairly small....about the size of a guinea pig....

they are actually great pets! resiliant to lots of illnesses. they sleep doing the day and are content to run in their wheels at night. they eat just about anything. Mine noramlly eats cat food. I give her treats like mealworms or strawberries several times a week.

She's small enough to fit in a large coat pocket, so sometimes I bring her out running errands with me! It's so much fun.

They have very minimal smell....and they are easily litterbox trained, so you just have to change the litter box and not all the bedding the their cage which I think is SO cool.

Hedgehogs like to be alone, as in, they like to be the only hedgehog. They don't hang out in packs in the wild or anything.

I will have to take some pictures of her, I keep saying that but never do.
